Sheida Bamdad’s counselling philosophy centers on a non-pathologizing approach that values the uniqueness of each individual and their relationships. She creates a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their challenges, fostering understanding and healing. Sheida emphasizes the importance of self-awareness, communication, and connection within relationships, tailoring her therapeutic approach to meet the diverse needs of her clients.
Education and Approaches
Sheida Bamdad is a Registered Social Worker and Certified Couple and Family Therapist. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from York University, a Bachelor’s of Social Work from Ryerson University, and an advanced certification in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Guelph. Additionally, she earned a Master’s and a Bachelor’s in Social Science from the University of Tehran, Iran. With extensive experience in both non-profit and private practice settings, Sheida supports individuals, couples, families, groups, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. Her practice focuses on couple and relationship issues, complex trauma, PTSD, mood disorders, and complex identity concerns.

Sheida Bamdad studied and published “Migration and Marital Dissolution: A Documentation of Iranian Immigrants in Toronto” in 2010 at York University. She has also contributed several psycho-educational articles in the field of mental health, published in North American publications.
